As the CEO and Founder of MyGreenApple, Gardner has secured and successfully managed communications and event planning contracts with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), Reliable Best Businesses, the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland, and the Prince George’s County Young Democrats.
Identified as one of Prince George’s County, Maryland’s Top 40 Under 40 in business, Gardner is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications Studies with a concentration in Public Relations from Morgan State University and a Master of Public Administration, Policy and Management from Bowie State University.
An established event planning professional, LáVita Gardner has amassed an impressive list of accomplishments in her career. Prior to establishing MGA, Gardner served as the events coordinator to senior member of Congress Eleanor Holmes Norton. In this position she served as a Congressional representative on both the national and District of Columbia 2009 Inaugural Steering Committees. It was also in this position that she developed and coordinated multiple citywide and special events which, collectively, attracted over 50,000 attendees.
